SERVICES PROVIDED BY ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
Services of Electrical Inspector and Ex-Officio Secretary of Tripura Electrical Licensing Board is provided by the Electrical Inspectorate, details are mentioned below:
- Approval of electrical installations and apparatus of voltage exceeding 650 volts under regulation 45 of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2023 for energizing.
- Inspection of generating sets of different capacity under regulation 34 of the Regulations for according approval of fitness certificate for installation and charging of different capacity of Diesel Generating Sets.
- Inspection and approval of electrical installations in a multi-storeyed building of more than 15 meters in height as required under regulation 38 of the Regulations for energizing.
- To grant Certificate of Competency to Supervising Electrical Workman, Certificate of Competency to Operative Electrical Workman and License to Electrical Contractors as required by regulation 31 of the Regulations.
- To inquire into the cause of electrical accidents as and when directed by the Government as required under Section 161 (2) of the Electricity Act 2003.
- Enforcement of the electrical safety provisions under the Tripura Cinemas (Regulation), Act 1985 to issue Safety Certificates to Cinema halls and issue license to Cinema operators.
- To co-ordinate, regulate and enforce provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 as inspecting Officer for various Energy Conservation Activities in the state of Tripura.
- Inspections and issuance of NOC for electrical clearance of residential, commercial and industrial building before construction as per provisions of Tripura Building Rules, 2017 including amendments thereof.
